You have to bring your A-game for a split release and so the 'Manifestations' collections are probably the best place to start with early DsO. There are few hints as to the experimental path they would later take, but if they'd carried on in this vein they'd still be one of the best black metal bands on the planet. Blistering primitive BM, fully-formed at birth and scary as a baby with a grown man's face.
